Our Process
Our interior designer services ensure that your vision meets reality! From your design inspiration to the stunning final reveal, we handle every detail with care. We walk you through each step—developing your design, procuring and storing furniture, coordinating and managing trades including builders, electricians, plumbers, and tilers, and ensuring every element comes together flawlessly. Whether you’re in the initial stages of a renovation or new build, needing guidance on styling, sourcing, cabinetry, or furniture, we make the journey just as enjoyable as the result. The outcome? A beautifully curated, functional space that’s uniquely yours.
The first step is to get in touch via email or phone for a quick 15-minute call. We’ll chat about your project, design needs, and ensure we’re the perfect fit to bring your vision to life.

Initial consultation
Every project begins with an onsite initial consultation—even if you’re interstate, we’ll make it work. This meeting allows us to get to know each other while giving me valuable insights into your design vision. By walking through each space, discussing your likes and dislikes, and exploring your inspiration, I can create a comprehensive Design Proposal outlining the project scope and costs.
During the consultation, we’ll also review floor plans, refine your inspiration, determine what will be reused or rehomed, and take precise measurements to ensure every detail is accounted for.
Initial design consultation fee is $400.

Design concept and Development
This is where the magic happens! The design process is all about transforming your inspiration into a cohesive concept that is both functional and beautiful. Every finish, material, and furnishing piece is carefully considered for durability, practicality, and style—all while staying within budget and ensuring its availability meets our project deadline.
What can you expect? While each Design Proposal is tailored to your project, you’ll typically receive design boards, 3D renderings, material and fabric selections, and a detailed design presentation that brings your vision to life.
After reviewing the initial presentation, we’ll collaborate to refine every detail, ensuring the final design is a perfect reflection of your style and needs.

Procurement & Trade project management
Once we’ve finalised a design concept you absolutely love, we move into the procurement phase. Every approved item is carefully sourced and stored by Erica Fanning Interiors until the site is ready for installation. We meticulously manage lead times, working backwards to ensure everything is on hand exactly when needed.
Our trusted network of skilled trades—including electricians, cabinet makers, and window treatment installers—helps us bring your vision to life with the highest level of craftsmanship. We handle project management, site access coordination, and procurement of fixtures and fittings, liaising directly with trades to keep the process seamless.
This means no daily site chaos, no endless questions—just a beautifully executed project, saving you time and ensuring complete peace of mind.

Installation
Our favourite part of the project—the big reveal! This is when everything comes together, making the entire journey so worthwhile.
We schedule dedicated installation days where furniture, window treatments, and styling elements are carefully brought in, transforming your space from concept to reality. From deliveries and assembly to installation and final styling, we handle every last detail—so all you have to do is step into your beautifully finished home.
And of course, no reveal is complete without a little celebration… so get ready to come home to the bubbly!
